Walking Dead’s Lee Is Partly Defined by His Race, Says Telltale Games

The developers at Telltale Games that created The Walking Dead adventure game series say they made their main character black because it meshed well with the Georgian setting but also so that they could explore how race influenced his reactions.

Developers Jake Rodkin and Sean Vanaman are quoted by PCGamesNas saying that, “The Walking Dead features a black man in the leading role. But while it’s not about race, it has to feature the politics of race in the game context to be honest.”

The team also wanted to challenge some of the assumptions of the player base and mix their experience with that of the protagonist.

The Walking Dead episodic game series was very successful and the team is currently planning to launch a second season later during the year.

Fans should keep their saves in order to see how their actions influenced the cast of characters
